If your plans change

Your seat is not refundable. With only five seats in a circle, holding one for you means turning someone else away.

But your seat can move with you. Write to hello@leavenandrise.com and I will place you in a future circle. Seats can be transferred to a future session or cohort, and I'll always work with you to find the right answer.

If I cancel the circle, or it does not fill, you receive a full refund of everything you paid.

A participant's words

What writing reveals

"Telisha's prompts led me into deep communication with loved ones who have passed, letting me see them through the beauty of their lives and not just the tragedy."

In the end I wrote, or they wrote: "Don't be stingy with this love we have gifted you. Don't waste our sacrifices, rather gain strength, and honor us by asking us for help and carrying on the work."

— Shelley K Rothman

"It was a really lovely evening. Thinking back, I'm quite stunned and impressed with how much got done in such a short time. It was strange and jarring to zoom out to look at my ancestry as a whole, but really sweet to zero in on my uncle and feel real love and support flowing both ways.

The writing exercise was the best kind of prayer. Not asking for anything but sending a message across the veil: I'm so proud of you. And then realizing along the way that the things I'm proud of him for are the things that I'm proud of myself for as well. So it does feel like the love and applause was sent both ways."

— Hillary Webb

"It was truly amazing! I even took a course on mediumship back in the 80s and delivered a message for someone, but still didn't trust what was happening.

Last night, it was a feeling and thought transfer. I didn't hear anything and only briefly glimpsed my parents and a few aunts and uncles and grandparents in the beginning, and then thoughts/statements from my dad were just planted in my brain to write down."

— Jeanne DeFlorio

Who holds the circle

My ancestors were with me all along

I also know that this kind of deep, personal transformation requires the right environment. It rarely happens in crowded rooms; it happens in small circles where people feel fully seen, heard, accepted, and safe to explore.

Leaven is all of this kneaded together: the intimacy of the circle, the power of writing, and the steady accompaniment of my ancestors. I offer it so you can rise with yours.

Questions

What people ask before they begin

Do I need to be a writer?
No. Leaven is not a craft class and nothing is graded or critiqued. The writing is a doorway, not a performance. If you can write a letter, you can do this.
What happens in a live session?
We gather on Google Meet in a small circle. I open the theme, offer a guided meditation, and share two or three gentle prompts. Then comes quiet, protected writing time, about 30 minutes.
Is this therapy?
No. Leaven is an educational and spiritual program. It is not therapy, counseling, or mental-health treatment, and is not a substitute for professional care. It can sit alongside that care beautifully.
Do I need to share a particular faith?
Leaven is offered through a Baháʼí-inspired lens and draws on prayers and wisdom from many traditions: Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Indigenous, and more. Nothing asks you to believe anything in particular or to leave your own faith at the door. Bring what is yours, take what serves your healing, and leave the rest.
Who are my ancestors?
Your family line, and people you loved who have gone before you, by blood or not. The next world is not bound by time or place. Ancestors from centuries ago and those who recently transitioned are both within reach.
What if I sign up and can't attend?
Reach out. Seats can be transferred to a future session or cohort, and I'll always work with you to find the right answer.
